Art and Architecture-The Łazienki Palace, also known as the Palace on the Water. It is built on an artificial island located in the Warsaw Royal Baths Park. The original building was completed in 1689, but between 1764 and 1795 it was remodeled into private quarters for Stanisław August Poniatowski, the last king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. During World War II, the Germans made preparations to blow up the building but never carried them out.
